Car Insurance Alfa Romeo (Car Insurance). Very slight thudding while driving my '03 Focus TDCi around corners - should I be worried?

Very slight thudding while driving my '03 Focus TDCi around corners - should I be worried? Most notable going 20+mph around a long sweeping corner. Unnoticeable on straights, except perhaps a little during long, slight braking. Just got new, balanced tyres but thinking it's the tracking... Thanks!

Possible CV joint or wheel bearing going bad, I assume they checked brakes when you installed new tyre's, Could also be loose lug nuts. Also nothing to do with your question, Should get aligned with new tyre's also did you check rear for any cupping on tread which could make a thudding sound. I would get checked for safeties sake.

Alfa Romeo . Cargo Net Instructions

A cargo net is an ideal accessory for your car. It can hold almost anything in your trunk or on your roof rack. The cargo net is perfect for groceries or small items that you do not want to shift or slide around. They can be installed in almost any vehicle, and, generally, the instructions for installing a net are similar.
Installation of Trunk Cargo Nets
A trunk cargo net is installed across the inside of the trunk, usually toward the back of the car trunk. It is suspended between the two sides of the trunk with mounting bolts. The weather strip and side paneling of the trunk are removed first, along with interior spare tire covers. Then there will be holes where you can install the mounting bolt studs on which the hooks for the cargo net will eventually be installed. The bolts are screwed into place with washers and nuts. Then the paneling is installed.
Paneling
The paneling is installed over the mounting nuts; you will have to drill through the paneling so the mounting bolts are exposed. Dab paint onto the ends of the bolts, then fit the paneling into place. Where the paneling contacts the nuts, the paint will transfer and leave a mark. Drill this mark with a matching size bit and then install the paneling in the vehicle. The mounting bolts will now be exposed through the panels. You can attach the hooks to them.
Attaching the Hooks
The hooks are the pieces of hardware onto which you will eventually place the cargo net. These are secured to the mounting bolts by twisting them into place. When you install them, make sure the hooks are pointing toward you, so you can more easily loop the cargo net around them. Also, this prevents the cargo net from coming unlatched when items push forward against the netting. If you are going to store heavy items behind the cargo net, consider mounting the hooks so they face inward. It will be more difficult to latch the cargo net around the hooks, but there will be less of a chance of the netting popping off the hooks.

Alfa Romeo . How to Remove the Spare Tire From a Mazda Tribute

Getting a flat tire can be a frustrating event; getting a flat tire and not knowing how to access your spare is even worse. The Mazda Tribute has a unique way of storing its spare tire, so read on for information on how to remove the spare from your Mazda Tribute.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Factory lug wrench
Towel
GlovesSuggest EditsItem AddWhy is it necessary?Done

Step by Step :
1Always use the parking brake for safety
Turn the engine off and engage the parking brake. The parking brake should be engaged anytime you are working behind or underneath a vehicle. Place the towel on the ground behind the rear bumper of the vehicle to prevent soiling your clothing.
2Jack
Locate the jack. The Mazda Tribute jack is located in the rear cargo compartment on the passenger side of the vehicle. You'll need to remove a plastic panel to access it. The jack will have a special lug wrench bundled with it that you will use to release the spare tire.
3Spare tire underneath vehicle
Insert the lug wrench into the access hole on the rear bumper. Open a body-colored cover with your finger to access the hole. Turn the lug wrench counterclockwise until the spare tire is released onto the ground. Turn the wrench two or three times after the tire touches the ground to create slack in the cable.
4
Turn the retainer underneath the tire sideways to lift it from the center hole of the spare tire. Remove the tire from underneath the vehicle and restore the cable to its original position by turning the lug wrench clockwise in the access hole.
Tips & Warnings
When tightening the cable to restore the retainer, make sure it locks by tightening it as far as it will go. If the retainer does not lock, it could fall down and create a road hazard.

Introduction # • e « a for many people, getting a driver's license is an event that runs second only to getting a diploma or a marriage license. We study, practice, and take the test in a state of high anticipation that's marred only by the fear of failing and being "grounded" forever. Yet most of us succeed in passing and hop happily into our cars, headed for the freedom of the open road. Unfortunately, most of us don't know the first thing about the machines we're licensed to drive — and this can turn a ticket to freedom into a ticket to trouble. I'm not necessarily talking about physical danger. State motor vehicle bureaus have made fairly sure that, before we can get a driver's license, we know how to drive defensively and can handle a car under poor driving conditions. What I'm referring to is the kind of trouble that comes from depending on other people to care for and repair our vehicles. If you're like most people, you probably tend to drive around until something goes wrong and then incur the expense of replacing worn and burnt-out parts — or the entire engine — when low-cost, regular maintenance could have kept your wheels turning for a long time. About This Book Whether you're trying to cut expenses, are tired of being patronized, or have just fallen in love with your first car, this book tells you how your car works, what it needs in the way of tender loving care, and how to keep from getting ripped off if you have to entrust repairs to someone else. By handling the simple maintenance and tune-ups and being able to diagnose trouble and perform the less complex repairs yourself, you'll earn the respect of your family, your mechanic, and your car — and you'll feel pretty good about it! In this book, I introduce you to the wonders of the internal combustion engine and to the even more wondrous newfangled engines of the future. After you get familiar with the principal parts and systems involved, I gently lead you into basic maintenance and repair tasks that you can do yourself. Don't worry about getting in over your head. If a repair can get you into trouble if you attempt to do it yourself, I tell you how to be sure the work is done properly by a professional at a fair price. I also warn you when you should tackle a job only with an experienced friend or automotive teacher at your elbow. So don't chicken out on me! Start with the easy stuff and then take on the more challenging tasks. You'll love yourself for it, and your vehicle will love you, too. Believe me, I've been there.... 87 Car Insurance ford fusion 2006 sesedan4d 67345

Auto Repair For Dummies Hou) I Became Intimately \nVoiVed u/ith My Car (and Why fault Want to Bo It, Too) Before I moved to California, I was an ordinary urban cliff dweller: I had only a nodding acquaintance with cars. Ours was locked up in a garage, to be summoned forth by my husband for excursions to "the country"; otherwise, I used subways, buses, and taxis. All the maintenance on our car was done by the garage that housed it. My sole contribution to our automotive life was choosing the color whenever we bought a new vehicle, and my main purpose in getting a driver's license was so that I could go to the supermarket during our summers in the country or drive down to the lake for a swim. I rarely, if ever, drove in the city because doing so seemed a cross between foolishness and suicide. When we moved to California, I must confess that my enthusiasm for a life in the sun was considerably dampened by the knowledge that this would also include a life on the freeway, but then I began to sow my oats. It started with a solo marketing excursion, and then that marvelous feeling of freedom that

comes with sliding behind the wheel began to take hold. Before I knew it, I was looking for a car of my own. Because the family budget had been considerably strained by the move West, the best I could do was a six-year-old Mustang with more than 70,000 miles on it. A friend of mine who had grown up in Los Angeles — and was therefore a qualified automotive expert — checked out the car and pronounced it drivable. He said that it might need "a little work." We took it to a reliable mechanic, who checked it over, tuned it up, and told me that it was "a classic." Thus reassured, I drove the car to the Department of Motor Vehicles to regis ter it. I parked the car, turned off the ignition, locked it, and found that, sitting there in the middle of the parking lot, the car was singing! A bit puzzled, I rechecked the ignition and the radio, but everything was truly shut off. And still the car sang. By the time I returned, all was quiet. But that night, when I took the family out to dinner, old Tweety Bird began to sing again. Several weeks of filling and refilling the radiator, changing the coolant, putting gunk

in the radiator to block any leaks, and so on managed to reduce the singing somewhat. But when I found out, many dollars later, that all she had needed was a new $2 radiator cap, I was made abruptly aware of two things: v* Tweety was mine, and my responsibility. If she didn't work, I wasn't going to be able to, either. V0 It would be impossible to enter this symbiotic relationship properly if I didn't know anything about her, because the garage bills were going to send both of us down the drain. Introduction So I conned a friend of mine (who happened to have two sets of automotive tools) into taking an auto shop class with me at a local adult education center. I discovered that cars are pretty simple things to deal with. Instead of a bewildering array of weird metal objects and miles of hoses that threatened to blow up if I turned a screw in the wrong direction, I soon found that a car is just a series of simple Rube Goldberg mechanisms linked together (with a computer thrown in now and then that even professional mechanics need specialists to deal with). Most maintenance, tune-ups, and many repairs involve only a few, isolated gadgets, and cars are very good about sending out signals telling you clearly what's wrong — if you know how to hear, see, smell, or feel them. Before long, it was no longer enough to be able to communicate with a mechanic; I wanted to be the mechanic myself whenever possible. I learned that the best way to work on a vehicle is to handle it like a baby — take a firm grip on things and do the job without mincing around. Not only did I save money, but Tweety began running better, and I found that I was having fun! To share the good news with everyone else, I sat down and wrote the first edition of this book. I called it.4ufo Repair for Dummies because that's the only title that I would have been willing to take a chance on before I realized how easy this stuff really is. Doing it yourself can really pay off in terms of dollars and cents. The major difference between doing the work yourself and taking it to a professional is that professional mechanics often try the most potentially lucrative solution first. If that doesn't do it, they try the next thing, and continue to try things until they hit the right one. This method can cost you a bundle. On the other hand, when you do the diagnosing, you can try the cheaper solutions first. For example, if your engine has been overheating constantly, you replace the radiator cap, pressure-test the system, and check the coolant level and the thermostat before buying and installing a new water pump. And if it finally comes down to changing the pump, you try to find a rebuilt one and install it yourself (which is usually not difficult). The money you save is well worth the effort.

With this book as your guide to auto repair, you may discover that your car stops being a mystery and begins to be fun to hang around with. You may even, as I did, enter into the closest relationship you'll ever have with an inanimate object. Of course, the term inanimate isn't really accurate. When you realize that a car exhibits most of the symptoms of life — it's self-propelled, reacts to outside stimuli, consumes fuel and discharges wastes, and even manages to sing a little tune now and then — it's really hard not to respond to it as though it were another living thing. Of course, how far you go along with this idea is your own business. It's not a prerequisite for getting into auto repair, but it helps. Auto Repair For Dummies Houl 1 Picture \!ou In order to make this book as relevant, readable, and enjoyable as possible, I envisioned it as a friendly conversation with the kind of person I felt would want to read it. Here's the mental portrait of my readers that I kept in mind: j> You're intelligent and may know a great deal about a lot of things (law, business, literature, medicine, and other nonautomotive subjects), but you need some help when it comes to cars. u* You're tired of living as a "closet dummy" who nods and smiles at the incomprehensible mutterings of your mechanic, only to end up shelling out money for repairs that you neither fully understand nor always need. V* You've decided that it simply isn't worth the extra money to have other people do things for you that you can do yourself. W You're tired of other people assuming (especially if you're a teenager or a woman) that you aren't capable of handling repairs yourself. e* You're tired of feeling helpless in an emergency and want to be able to troubleshoot and deal with breakdowns and accidents so that you can cope with the unexpected. v* You want to keep a good vehicle in good condition without paying dearly to have someone else do the maintenance, or you simply want to keep your old heap running just a little longer without spending a lot of money on it.
